Goal: By the end of this course, students will be able to produce and sequence a full beat, including drums, melodies, and arrangement.

Curriculum

Objective: Understand the fundamentals of beat production.

Topics:
- What is a beat?
- Difference between a beat and a full song
- Key roles: producer vs. beatmaker
- Overview of DAWs (FL Studio, Ableton, Logic Pro, etc.)
- Setting up your first DAW project (tempo, time signature)

Hands-on Tasks:
- Install and explore a DAW
- Set up a 16-bar project at 90-140 BPM
- Practice loading basic drum samplesWeek 2
- Drum Programming 101
- Objective: Build your first drum pattern using a step sequencer or piano roll.

Topics:
- Understanding drums: kick, snare, hi-hat, clap, percussion
- Drum pattern structures (Boom Bap, Trap, Drill, R&B, etc.)
- The concept of the "pocket" and groove- Layering drums for impact

Hands-on Tasks:
- Make a basic 8-bar drum loop
