2026 Somewhere Summer Sessions (S3)
May 26-29, 2026 1:00-5:00pm • $75 Per Student
Every young musician has a dream. Somewhere Summer Sessions exists to give that dream an address. We imagine a future where young people from Wichita don't just dream about working in music — they learn how. Where the next generation of artists, engineers, producers, and event professionals don't just consume music culture, they create it, shape it, and lead it.
S3 is a four-day, hands-on music experience for high school students, hosted at Somewhere Works. Through daily rotations across performance, recording, production, and event logistics, students don't just learn about music — they make it, mix it, produce it, and perform it. Every student, every day, touches each element. No passive observation. No sidelines. Just real experience in a real facility with real industry professionals.
THE S3 PROGRAM MODEL
S3 divides students into four groups, each assigned 1-2 songs that become their creative project for the week. Every group rotates through all four stations each day — performing, recording, producing, and managing a live event. By Friday, every student has touched every element of the music production process, and every group has a finished product to show for it.
